A "god" to sail opens in the estuary


The Bima Suci, the school ship that the Freire shipyard Freire (Freire Shipyard) has built for the Indonesian Navy, began its sea trials in the Ria today (as seen in the image). The ship, 110 meters long and 12.6 meters long, displays a sail of about 3,350 square meters and can accommodate up to 200 crew members (cadets in formation), as this newspaper collected. 

The entry into force of the contract came in June 2015, but the award in an international competition dates back to June 2013. Freire had presented the most competitive offer of those who attended the international tender of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, with a budget Of 70 million dollars.

The Freire ship, designed by the Spanish company Oliver Design and whose name alludes to an Indonesian deity, replaces the KRI Dewaruci (58 meters in length, already retired from service) and has 110 meters in length for 12 mango and 6 Of draft. 

The ship, with bricbarca type rig (three sticks, brigantine style), deploys 3,350 square meters of sail surface and will serve as a naval training platform with capacity to accommodate 200 people on board, of which 120 will be cadets in instruction. The contract secured 346,000 hours of work for the naval factory over a period of 22-24 months, employing an average of 300 people.
